Hull Plating Upgrade

Improving the ship's hull strength by armoring is quite expensive. For each pip you want to increase the hull strength, multiply it times 1500 Cr for starfighter scale; times 3500 Cr for capital scale (each pip must be purchased separately). You can't increase your ships hull code more than +2D. For each increased pip your ship looses a pip of its maneuverability (note: the maneuverability can't be less than 0D).
Example: Mr. Mc' Leoud, one of our customers owns a ship called Tweety which has a hull code of 3D. He wants to increase the hull code by +2 up to 3D+2. For the complete work he has to pay: 3(hull) X 1500(starfighter) x 2(from 3D to 3D+2 = 2 pips) = 9000 credits.

Cargo Capacity Upgrade

It is possible to increase the cargo capacity in the way of upgrading the latheral thrusters, to increase the maximum weight of the ship's cargo up to 30% of it's actual cargo capacity. First one has to enhance the internal structure of the spaceship to compensate the additional weight. Second one has to upgrade the latheral thrusters of the ship, to keep the maneuverability at the same level as it was before (otherwise it'll loose 1 pip per 5% cargo upgrade).
The whole bunch (latheral thrusters, structure enhancement) can be bought by a special offer. It'll cost 1000 Cr per ton of upgraded cargo capacity to reinforce the internal structure, and depending on the hull code of the spaceship some extra credits for the latheral thrusters.
You can't increase the volume of your cargo space, because you have to rebuild your ship according to your desire. That's often more expensive than buying a new starship.

Example:

Ispep Aloc owns a ship called Re'Grubmah which has a maneuverability of 2D. He wants to increase the maneuverability by 1D up to 3D. For the complete work he has to pay: 4(hull) X 400(starfighter) x 3 = 4800 credits, plus 0.3(30%) X 70(cargo capacity) X 1000 = 21000 credits. Ispep Aloc has to pay 25800 credits for the whole upgrade (plus 21 tons, same maneuverability).

Maneuverability Upgrade

Improving the ship's maneuverability can be very useful in certain situations (if you have to dodge some pirates who want the best you have to offer, your money). You can accomplish this through the installation of higher-powered lateral thrusters. For each pip you want to increase your ship's maneuverability multiply the hull code times 400 credits for starfighter scale; 1000 capital scale times the code of maneuverability to be achieved (each pip must be purchased separately)You can't increase your ships maneuverability more than +2D.

Example:
Mr. Salaris, one of our customers owns a ship called Banshee II which has a maneuverability of 2D. He wants to increase the maneuverability by 1D up to 3D. For the complete work he has to pay: 4(hull) X 400(starfighter) x 3(from 2D to 3D = 3 pips) = 4800 credits.

The prices of the shield generators are the average prices for these units. It is impossible to modify shield generators beyond their initial strength. Each higher powered shield generator consumes more energy than the smaller one. So be aware of system shutdowns, because of the increased energy consumation (it is very nasty, if your systems shut down in a hot dockfight due to a system overload).

The prices of the weapon systems are the average prices for these units. Please be aware that higher powered weapons need more energy. It may be possible (in conjunction with an upgraded shield generator) that the energy core of your ship can't produce enough energy to run all systems at the same time.
If we should add the weapon to your ship, we must charge an additional fee for the required weapon load out permits. The cost of this fee depends on the weapon you want us to install (usually 30% of the purchase price).
